Supporting Youth Mental Health in Saint-Léonard-Saint-Michel: Exciting News for Our Community!
November 22, 2024

We are taking an important step forward for the mental health of our youth, as my colleague the Honourable Ya’ara Saks, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, launched the first open call for proposals under the new Youth Mental Health Fund. This initiative, part of the $500 million investment over five years announced in Budget 2024, is a major commitment to improving the mental well-being of young people across Canada, including right here in Saint-Léonard-Saint-Michel.

This initiative is just one of the many ways our Liberal government is showing its commitment to youth well-being and resilience. By ensuring that community organizations have the tools and resources they need to support youth mental health, we are building a brighter, healthier future for young people in Saint-Léonard-Saint-Michel and across Canada.

As a community, we know how important it is to ensure our youth have access to the mental health care they need, when they need it. From the pressures of social media to concerns about the future—youth are facing new and complex challenges. This fund will help community organizations enhance and expand their services to youth, ensuring that no one falls through the cracks.

The open call for proposals invites local organizations to apply for funding to increase access to community-based mental health care tailored to the needs of young people. It means that our local organizations, such as mental health agencies, community groups, and service providers, can access additional resources to support the mental health needs of our youth.

If you are part of an organization that supports youth mental health in Saint-Léonard-Saint-Michel, I encourage you to apply for this funding. The application process is open now, with proposals due by January 22, 2025.
