Cutting Red Tape to Support Canadian Businesses
In a time of global economic uncertainty, our government is focusing on what we can control. That means eliminating unnecessary red tape to reduce costs, remove delays and make it easier for Canadians and businesses to interact with government.
Bill S-7, The Cutting Red Tape for All Canadians Bill aims to simplify federal rules, eliminate outdated requirements and reduce duplicative paperwork. It proposes 31 measures to amend 38 federal laws, across 11 Federal departments, making government processes more efficient and reducing unnecessary administrative burdens on businesses and Canadians.
This bill is intended to be the first in a series of recurring legislative initiatives to identify and remove barriers that hold back economic activity. By regularly reviewing federal requirements, our government can ensure regulations remain practical, effective and responsive to Canada’s evolving economic needs.
For businesses, less time spent navigating unnecessary bureaucracy means more time to invest, innovate and grow. Streamlined processes can help entrepreneurs manage costs, improve productivity and create opportunities for workers and communities.
Our government recognizes the important role local businesses play in our community and Canada’s economy. By removing unnecessary obstacles and making government more efficient, we can help create the conditions for businesses to thrive. In a time of global uncertainty, reducing red tape is a concrete way to strengthen Canada’s competitiveness, support economic growth and build a stronger future for all Canadians.
