These investments are rooted in fiscal responsibility. Canada maintains the lowest net debt-to-GDP ratio in the G7 and one of the world’s strongest credit ratings (AAA). The government’s fiscal plan will balance the operating budget by 2028–29, while maintaining a steadily declining deficit-to-GDP ratio.
