ItalfestMTL: A Summer celebration you won’t want to miss August 8-17th

For over 30 years, ItalfestMTL has brought the spirit of Italy to the heart of Montreal, celebrating the rich culture, heritage, and artistic flair of the Italian community. What began in 1993 as a modest cultural festival in Montréal-Nord has grown into one of the city’s most anticipated summer events, now attracting nearly 600,000 visitors annually.

Formerly known as the Semaine Italienne de Montréal, the festival has expanded far beyond its original roots. It now spans multiple neighborhoods, including Saint-Léonard offering free concerts, art exhibitions, food tastings, fashion shows, and live performances that capture the essence of Italian joie de vivre.

Each year, ItalfestMTL transforms public spaces into vibrant hubs of activity. Whether you’re dancing under the stars in the Quartier des Spectacles or enjoying a fresh cannoli while listening to traditional Italian music, this festival creates unforgettable moments for locals and tourists alike.

Organized by the National Congress of Italian-Canadians (Quebec Region), ItalfestMTL reflects the vitality of one of Quebec’s most influential cultural communities. It’s more than just a festival, it’s a tribute to the legacy, creativity, and contributions of Italian Montrealers.

Now in its 32nd edition, ItalfestMTL has become a cornerstone of Montreal’s summer calendar, blending tradition and innovation in a truly inclusive, city-wide celebration. Whether you have Italian roots or simply love good food, great music, and warm summer nights, ItalfestMTL is a can’t-miss event that brings people together.
