Canada Summer Jobs Program Supports Youth and Local Organizations in Saint-Léonard–Saint-Michel

For many young people, a summer job is much more than just a paycheck—it represents a vital stepping stone toward building essential skills, gaining confidence, and paving the way for a successful future. The Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program plays a crucial role in making these opportunities a reality by creating thousands of meaningful, paid employment positions each summer for youth aged 15 to 30 across the country, including right here in Saint-Léonard–Saint-Michel.

Through the CSJ program, local community organizations receive the necessary financial support and resources to hire young people for the summer months. This enables these organizations to run a wide range of summer camps, recreational programs, and community activities that benefit residents of all ages and backgrounds.

By fostering these partnerships, the program not only provides youth with valuable hands-on work experience but also helps strengthen the social fabric of Saint-Léonard–Saint-Michel by expanding access to local services and creating new opportunities for community engagement.

Young people in our community have the chance to explore diverse career fields, ranging from arts and culture to summer camps, social services, and beyond. This combination of skill development and community impact is at the heart of the Canada Summer Jobs program, helping local youth build self-esteem and develop transferable skills that will serve them throughout their lives. The program empowers local organizations to deliver enriching summer programming that supports and uplifts the entire neighborhood encouraging Saint-Léonard–Saint-Michel’s youth and our entire community to grow stronger together.
