Explore Canada This Summer with the Canada Strong Pass

This week Canadian Culture and Identity Minister Steven Guilbeault announced that from June 20 to September 2, 2025, Canadians can enjoy free or discounted admission to numerous cultural and natural attractions across the country through the Canada Strong Pass. This initiative celebrates the shared experiences, natural beauty, and cultural richness that unite Canadians, making it easier for everyone to explore and appreciate what makes Canada extraordinary.

The Canada Strong Pass is not a physical card or ticket that requires purchase or registration. Instead, Canadians simply show up at participating Parks Canada sites, national museums, galleries, or VIA Rail stations to receive free or discounted admission.

Key benefits of the Canada Strong Pass include:

  • Parks Canada: Free entry to national parks, historic sites, and marine conservation areas administered by Parks Canada, plus a 25% discount on camping fees.
  • National Museums and the Plains of Abraham Museum: Free admission for children and teens 17 and under, and a 50% discount for young adults aged 18 to 24. Discounts apply to general admission.
  • VIA Rail: Free travel for children 17 and under accompanied by an adult, and a 25% discount for young adults aged 18 to 24.

Canadians can enjoy these benefits multiple times during the summer period. Some sites may require reservations or have limited capacity, so checking ahead is recommended. If you previously booked Parks Canada campsites or museum tickets for this summer, you may be eligible for prorated refunds.

The Canada Strong Pass makes exploring Canada accessible and affordable for everyone this summer. I encourage everyone to discover and reconnect with the nature, history and culture of this remarkable country we all share and are proud to call our own.
