Reconvening for Quebec caucus!
September 6, 2024

This past week, my Liberal colleagues from across the province met to prepare for the upcoming fall parliamentary session.

We had the opportunity to discuss what we heard this summer when meeting with our constituents.

It’s clear that our government’s priorities and those of Quebecers are the same: building more homes quicker and making life more affordable.

Real progress has been made! The Bank of Canada has reduced interest rates for a third consecutive time, and they are now at 4,25%. As for inflation, it has remained within the Bank of Canada’s target range for seven consecutive months and now stands at 2,5%.

Furthermore, Budget 2024 saw the introduction of historic measures to improve our country’s housing supply and make sure that every Quebecer and every Canadian can afford a good place to call home.

We have a solid plan that will allow us to build nearly 3,9 million new homes by 2031, and we have seen many housing projects get off the ground thanks to support from the federal government.

In the next few months, Quebecers will continue to see the results of the measures we have put in place while, in Parliament, Québec Liberal MPs will continue to fight to make life more affordable and defend the interests of our communities.
