We know that many of our businesses have suffered in recent years from a lack of manpower and labour shortages. While immigration has been a solution for many, we know that this can sometimes be a cumbersome and complex process.
That's why our government is launching the Recognized Employer Pilot (REP) under the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Program. This three-year project will simplify the hiring process for employers who have already hired foreign workers, and who have demonstrated the quality and compliance of the conditions offered to their employees.
Employers in the primary agriculture sector will be able to apply in September 2023, and those in all other sectors , in January 2024 until September 2024.
Applications will be assessed, and successful companies will have access to 36-month Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs) and simplified assessment applications. Recognized employers will also be designated as a recognized employer on the Job Bank to potential workers, increasing their attractiveness.
